Air conditioning cages
This was a contract from a major retailer to make secure their out door air conditioning units. As several sites were either sufering from vandalism of some sort, fires etc or the units were actually being stolen. The contract was to cover the whole of the UK. The retailer looked at the cost and inconvenience of having the air conditioning units stolen or damaged and therefore replaced, against the preventative measure of safegurading their investment and having cages built round them. As each site was unique each cage had to be tailormade on site. They were made from angle iron and galvanised mesh which was welded together. The angle iron was painted with a galvanised paint so it looked the same. Large doors had to be built in so units could be removed and the cages need to be big enough for engineers to fit in side to service or re gas them.
