Porch sheffield s11

Porch builder Sheffield.

We built this porch in Ecclesall Sheffield S11 in the same way an extension would be built.

Firstly we took the old damp single skin lean to porch down.

It had proper footings as opposed to being built of a concrete pad. It was built up from the footing level to dpc levele using concrete trench blocks the walls were constructed with cavities using concrete blocks on the outside and thermalites on the inside and 100mm cavity insulation was put in between.

The roof was constructed with breathable roof membrane and man made slates. On the under side the ceiling was vaulted so had kingspan between the rafters and also underneath them to prevent thermal bridging.

On the inside the porch was plaster boarded and on the outside a weber pre coloured render was applied.

The windows were all new UPVC and the door was a black composite door. The glass was sand blasted and the window had the house number blasted in to it which was a nice finishing touch.

The step was formed from a large piece of slate matching it in with the driveway nicely.
