Sleeper beds, Lawn & Fence
Sleeper beds, Artificial lawn, Indian stone patio & garden fence in Sheffield.
This job was a small terraced back garden in Crookes. It came in via a recommendation, we met the client who had plenty of ideas of his own and had clearly done his research. All we had to do was build his vision.
The garden was very dull and the levels were all over the place it took 12 tonnes of sub base to get it to the levels in the picture which is a lot for the size of the garden.
Artificial lawn.
The artificial lawn was laid on a limestone sub base and grit sand screed layer which were all compacted. A weed membrane was put in place and the turf was fixed around the edges with timber and nails.
Garden fencing.
The garden fencing was hand made from 50mm x 25mm tanalised timber set between 100 mm fence posts. The top of the fence was capped with 150mm x 25 mm. All this created a chunky but subtle garden screening.
Indian stone patio.
The indian stone patio was laid on a compacted limestone sub base and laid on full mortar beds.
The Indian stone was grey in colour.
Drainage.
The drainage on the back and front of the house was found to be cracked so while we were on site the client asked us to replace the gully pots and pipework.
Sleeper beds.
The raised flower beds were made from 200mm x 100mm tanalised timber and bolted together. There was a seat incorporated into the flower bed also made from sleepers.
