Roof and Gutter maintenance
I had a phone call from a customer to have a look at a guttering job in Sheffield. When I visited the property in Sheffield the client had mould and damp patches on the ground and 1st floor walls. We took a look outside and and noticed the gutters had been leaking. This was obvious due to the following.

The tell tale signs of leaking gutters:
- White salt deposits on the external walls of the property. These are left behind after the water dries out.
- Gren algae growth on the external walls of the property. The algae grows in damp conditions.
- Damp patches on the internal walls of the property or wallpaper coming off the wall.
- Mortor missing from between the bricks.
The guttering and roof are the most important parts of your property to maintain. As without these in full working order your house can be open to the elements causing more untold damage.
So remember to do a visual inspection of your roofline every so often to keep an eye out for anything suspicious. It's all to easy to forget about what you don't see.
